Young Adults

Young Adult ministry helps Unitarian Universalists age 18-35 find a religious home where they can feel accepted and where they can be challenged to further their spiritual growth. Age-focused groups within congregations are one way to reach out to young adults.

The Young Adult and Campus Ministry office is available to assist congregations, campus groups, and young adult groups. The Director and the UU Young Adult Network Steering Committee collaborate to provide workshops, consulting services, conferences for leadership training and spiritual development, and on-line resources. The Director is also available as a guest preacher or a consultant regarding young adult worship. Be sure to visit the grants page for information about financial resources.

Young Adult groups are often, but not always, the keystone of a congregation's ministries with Young Adults.  Young Adult groups may be large or small, congregation-based or regionally-based, focused on their local communities or connected to the wider UU movement. Most young adult groups have a favorite activity such as worship, potlucks, hikes, small group discussions, board games, or social justice projects. Some groups touch on a variety of activities throughout the year.
